Islam and COVID-19!

Corona virus has affected the world drastically, bringing positive and negative impacts on the society around the globe.

The greatest positive impact comes out to be the millions of people converting to Islam.

Leading to:

1. Adhan:
Many non-Muslim countries  have backed an ordinance to allow the adhan, the Muslim call to prayer, to be broadcast over loudspeakers.

2. Hijab:
‘Everyone suddenly understands it!’
Now, in an unexpected turn of events, people across the West are jogging in face masks and grocery shopping in bandannas tied across their mouths. That’s making public life in the niqab much more pleasant, say Muslim women.

3. Convert to Islam:
We should rather say 'REVERT' back to Islam as everybody's born Muslim.
Seeing the routine life of Muslim families proves that what the media says about Islam and Muslims is far from the truth. When the true reality of Islam is uncovered to a person, a religion that leads its followers toward a better and more prosperous life, one surely finds enough reason to convert to Islam and follow its path.

4. Wudhu:
As outbreaks of the coronavirus spread throughout the world, people are reminded over and over again to limit physical contact, wash hand and avoid touching their face. Which Muslims have been already doing in the form of ablution known as “wudu".

Many people who were looking for the most applicable methods in handling social, cultural, or economic issues, found out that the strategies Islam provides for every aspect of human life are so complete that it leaves no room for further questions and ambiguities.
According to Islam, those who have been affected, their suffering will be kaffarah (atonement) for their sins. For those who died, in accordance to a  prophetic saying that assures “one who dies of cholera is a martyr.” In other words, Muslims who die from a plague are considered martyrs.

When asked to specify why they became Muslim, converts give a variety of reasons. About a quarter say they preferred the beliefs or teachings of Islam to those of their prior religion, while 21% say they read religious texts or studied Islam before making the decision to switch. Still others said they wanted to belong to a community (10%), that marriage or a relationship was the prime motivator (9%), that they were introduced to the faith by a friend, or that they were following a public leader (9%).
Here are the words of a few people who converted with the reasons why?:

  • In 10 commandments of the Bible, it is mentioned that God is only One and we should worship Him alone but we do not follow these commands, whereas I found this concept very clearly only in Qur’an.

  • My study of Christianity through the Holy Bible and another books led me to believe and know that Jesus was not the son of God. In fact the term ‘SON’ is used for other prophets and pious men of God in the holy Bible, that mean Jesus is not only Son of God.

  • It was shocking for me to know that Jesus had never stated in the Bible that he is God. This made me question my belief that Jesus is God, so I started reading about him till I reached the point that he is not God.

  • I even had no knowledge that Muslims acknowledge Jesus, once I came to know that Muslims believe in Jesus, his name is mentioned in the Quran several time and it is obligated upon every Muslim to believe in him and respect him, I started reading the Holy Quran and I found that Quran respects Jesus and provides clear picture about his personality.

  • I read about Islam and I read the verse which says that “They do blaspheme who say :”(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary.”But said Christ: “O children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord” whoever joins other Gods with Allah, Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong dooers be no one help.5:72.

Allah SWT says in the Holy Quran:
أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لا يُفْتَنُونَ* وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ

"Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: “We believe,” and will not be tested. (2) And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars. (29:3)"
